The Walpole is a 1920's hotel and museum with a restaurant, two bars, covered verandah and games room all open to the public all year round. We have an art gallery and hold regular exhibitions. Walpole has meeting rooms, a ballroom for dances, weddings and conferences, networking and training events. Ideal cliff top location, close to the beaches with 42 rooms with stunning sea views. Private parties and murder mysteries are our speciality. Built in 1914 and extended in 1927 this living museum retains many original characteristics and was featured in BBC's 'One Foot in The Past'. Original gas lamps, working, trellis gated Otis lift, 19th and 20th century glass, original toaster, register going back to 1927, open fireplaces and much, much more.
