Zhablyano Monastery of St. John Precursor

Nobody knows when this monastery was established. But in the period of the Ottoman rule the monastery was destroyed. Later in the XVIIIth century the St. John Precursor Monastery was renewed. Nowadays the monastery is old style active. There is a three – nave, coupon church, built in 1884. There are also and farm buildings. A monastery school was established there in the first half if the XIXth century. Since 1879 to 1881 the abbot of the monastery was eminent the active man in the period of the liberation wars – Averkiy Popstoyanov. The monastery is proclaimed a cultural monument.
