ASLV Complex

It is the first launch complex in sriharikota area that was built in the seventies. There is a big 2 meter radar antenna. It is located towards the souther most part of the SHAR launch complex. The following launches have been carried out from this very first Launch pad. The first successful launch of SLV-3E2 at serial number 3 on 18 July 1980 has been the turning point for India. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was the Project Director for the success with Professor Sathish Dhawan as the Director of SDSC SHAR.
