The Sterling C. Evans Library complex (building number 0468) began life as a four-level 1968 addition to what is now the Cushing Memorial Library (referred to as a different building, but still part of the complex) and physically incorporated the smaller Gibb Gilchrist Engineering Building. A six level addition was completed in 1979 (shortly after a re-dedication to the building's current name), though the first floor is smaller than seen due to the cantilevered floors over it. After access to Cushing was sealed in the mid-1990s, the late 1990s brought the Annex, an additional six-floor building linked via fourth floor skywalk. It features a Starbucks Coffee on the first floor (formerly a university establishment called Poor Yorick's), and like many buildings on campus, it has a basement that is off-limits to students.
