Owned jointly by West Fraser Timber Ltd of Vancouver and Daishowa-Marubeni International Ltd. of Japan, Cariboo Pulp & Paper Co produces 336,000 tonnes of northern bleached softwood Kraft (NBSK) pulp each year. The pulp is marketed in Europe and USA (by West Fraser) and Asia (By DMI). The mill opened in 1972 and currently employs about 300.
