fishing area, lake

Some of the largest rainbow trout in the Cariboo are taken from this shallow lake. fishing is best in the spring and fall as the water warms considerably in the summer due to the shallow depth. Fishing is best done with flies, leeches being a local favorite. In the early days fisherman would often refer to this lake as "Secret Lake" when discussing their trips here so as not to give away the location of the best fishing to be had. Though developed all around the lake, it still turns out large fish. The fish are not great for eating ("muddy tasting") so catch and release is the order of the day. The lake is stocked to maintain it's population of large catchables.
