Bowater Incorporated, headquartered in Greenville, SC, is a leading producer of coated and specialty papers and newsprint. In addition, the company sells bleached market pulp and lumber products. Bowater employs approximately 6,900 people and has 12 pulp and paper mills in the United States, Canada and South Korea. In North America, it also operates one converting facility and owns 10 sawmills.

Bowater’s Catawba Operation, located on the Catawba River, is one of the largest coated mechanical paper mills in the world. The facility was established in 1957. Products: coated paper and market pulp.

Annual Capacity:
Coated Paper: 667,000 metric tons
Market Pulp: 225,000 metric tons.

Also there is an on-site lumber mill which produces dressed siding lumber; manufactures building & structural wood members; manufactures metal doors, sash & trim; sheet metal fabricator.
