The Mitrovoto and Argirovoto Lakes are located in the Demirkapi Cirque in Pirin Mountain, from which the river Bistritsa originates. That is why the lakes are often called Demirkapiyski. They are surrounded by a wreath of peaks - Kamenitsa, Kralev Dvor, Dzhano, Chengelchal, Demirchal. The path from Pirin Hut to Popovo Lake and Bezbog Hut passes by them.
