Amatignak Island

Amatignak Island is a member of the Delarof Islands (western Andreanof Islands), in Alaska's Aleutian archipelago. The south-most point of Alaska is on this island, as well as the highest western longitude of the United States and North America.

The island is about 8 km (5 mi) long north-to-south, and about 4 km (3 mi) wide east-to-west.

  • It is also the south-most point in Alaska.
  • It is NOT the westernmost point in the US - it is the highest West LONGITUDE of the US. US islands further west of this point are EAST longitudes. I have amended the error.
