Peabody Energy's Caballo Mine is a surface coal mine, situated in Wyoming's portion of the Powder River Basin. Coal from this mine is transported by BNSF Railway and Union Pacific Railroad to customers throughout North America. During 2007, production from the Caballo Mine amounted to 31,172,396 tons, the 6th highest among coal mines in the United States.
