Aurora Lake (formerly Como Lake)
During the 1870s Como Station which serviced the Union Pacific railroad was located on the south side of the lake. In 1877, railroad worker William Harlow Reed discovered dinosaur bones in the bluffs just to the south. It turned out to be one of the most important dinosaur bone beds in the history of paleontology.
