The plant and warehouse were originally constructed in 2002 by Magna for its Intier Innovative Seating Systems subsidiary to supply seats for Chrysler Pacifica. The Pacifica was cancelled in 2007 and the plant closed.

In 2010 Wind Tronics reopened the plant to produce residential and small commercial wind turbines. The first production model is the WT6000 Honeywell Wind Turbine which can produce up to 2,000 KW of energy per year, or 18% of average annual residential household electricity use. The turbine is designed to reduce friction which allows electricity to be produced in slower winds.
