Louisville based subsidiary of Mitsui processes and converts hot and cold rolled steel. Specializes in automotive steel blanks. Formerly owned by Kasle Steel of Dearborn which was purchased by Steel Technologies in 2006. Scheduled to close in June 2009 putting 25 people out of work.
It is one of the original buildings constructed by U.S. Steel following acquisition of 1,400 acs. and formation of the Town of Ojibway in 1917. The intervention of WW I curtailed the development which was eventually shelved and the property sold to Dominion Steel & Coal in 1937. Dominion Steel & Coal operated a wire mill at this location which closed in 1957
