The Rawhide Mine (owned by Powder River Coal, a business unit of Peabody Energy) is a surface coal mine, situated in Wyoming's portion of the Powder River Basin. Coal from this mine is transported by BNSF Railway to customers throughout North America. During 2007, production from the Rawhide Mine amounted to 17,144,361 tons, the 10th highest among coal mines in the United States.
