  Every year, thousands of Sand Hill Cranes migrate to the Willcox Playa in the winter to roost here. They fly into the Sulphur Springs Valley, just South of here, to feed in the dozens of farms/ranches located there. Many bird watchers from all over the world come here to study and see the cranes.
