The Osenovlag Monastery of the Seven Altars/Nativity of the Mother of God (in Bulgarian: „Седемте престола“; transliterated: Sedemte Prestola - The Seven Altars) near the village of Osenovlag.
The origin of the monastery is from the time of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom in the XIV century. Some historians claim that it was built during the reign of Tsar Peter Delyan. The monastery is near the Roman fortress Kaleto. The iron eyelid in the bell tower is made of the hinges of the fortress doors by order of St. Sofroniy of Vratsa Town.
In 1737, many monasteries and churches were destroyed and devastated, including the seven throne monasteries. After the Russo-Turkish War in 1769, the Khatishirifa Ferman was issued, which allowed all Orthodox Christians to profess their faith in their own language, to build temples and monasteries. The seven throne monastery on the old foundations was restored by the brothers priests Marko and Todor from Teteven and master Stoyo from Troyan.
During the Ottoman rule, the Osenovlag Monastery was a spiritual center for the population of the region. Asylum in the monastery was found by St. Sofroniy Vrachanski, Vasil Levski, Abbot Hristofor, Valchan Voyvoda, priest Martin, Botev's rebels and others. In 1892 he was visited by Ivan Vazov, who wrote in it the ballad The Eyelid Beats. From 1944 to 1958 the monastery became home, during the lifetime of the writer Zmey Goryanin. East of the altar of the monastery temple is his grave.
The monastery is a point on the European hiking route E3 (Kom - Emine).
