mountain, summit
Mt. Pennell, at 11408ft/3477m, is the second hightest peak in the Henry Mountains.
A forest fire swept across the east side of the mountain in 2003 burning pinyon and juniper habitat, as well as fir, ponderosa and stands of quaking aspen. The east side of Mt. Pennell was mined for uranium in the 1940's and 1950's, so mines and roads to access them are still in evidence.
