The Philadelphia Art Museum of was built in 1928, on the site of a former reservoir at the end of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and the beginning of Fairmount Park. Its style harkens back to the Greek Parthenon. It was designed by Charles L. Borie, Jr., Clarence C. Zantzinger and Horace Trumbauer as associated architects.
