  • It is not on Bhima river. Maski village is famous for oldest historical inscription or epigraph belong to great Maurya King Ashoka around 3rd Century B.C. In this inscription Ashok's name is mentioned along with his titles like 'Devanam Piya'. Hence after reading Maskin inscriptions famouse king Ashoka known to world. Therefore Maski inscription is famouse for the history of India and also for Mankind. The Ashokan inscription is in Brahmi script and Prakrit Language. This inscription is o granite boulder located 3 Km to the west of the Maski village.
