The so-called Upper castle Rataje (means the seat of ploughmen) from the 14th century was in the 16th rebuilt from Gothic to Renaissance style. In 1675 Franz Maxmilian of Talmberk rebuilt the castle with the participation of the architect and constructor Ottavio Andrea de Guarda to contemporary Baroque form. Three wings one floor building was built on the layout of type U. Southern wing, which was originally Gothic, was rebuilt in the Renaissance, western and northern wing has been built in early Baroque with an arcaded courtyard. Above the passage in the west wing you will find the coat of arms of Lords of Talmberk, on the roof has benn a turret with a lantern. Before the west front of the castle is the three wings Renaissance building of the former brewery.
