Jemniste Castle and Park (Емниште)

Former medieval water stronghold was rebuilded as a barroque castle in 1724. Restituded in 1989, in property of Jiri (George) Count of Sternberg. Permanent improving of the castle buildings and neighbouring park has been in progress. In the castle courtyard vibrate sensual recorded baroque chamber music permanently. Castle park in surroundings is divided into two unequal parts, the greater one is the free natural English park with skilfully arranged groups of large trees with ponds, water birds and a small zoo, a minor part in the courtyard and southeast of the castle building is a typical example of the French garden. A perfect restaurant in the north castle wing offers to the vistors delicious refreshment.
