The Hyatt Regency New Orleans Hotel was constructed in 1976 and was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. It remained vacant for nearly six years until being reopened on October 19, 2011. The 31-story hotel contains 1,184 guest rooms, including four presidential suits, 200,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space, two restaurants, two bars, a Starbucks, and a 24-hour fresh market.
