The highest table mountain in the country. Lookout Děčínský Sněžník has bearing the same name as the mesa hill itself. Decinský Snenikwas attracted to its charming view of the Lusatian mountains and Czech-Saxon Switzerland, and in particular for its unique airflow. Due to rising thermal currents around the mesa to a mix of air currents to the North Sea, for the beneficial effects of this place is called "wind bath".

Franz Count of Thun had it built in 1864 according to the plans of architect Hanel. At its beginning has been built for geographical purposes. Surveyors have been widely used in Austria, Prussia and Saxony. With the development of tourism lookout tower stayed well known and Count Thun guard hired the tower to tourists for a fee. Over time, the observation tower became known beyond the borders and the inn was established here too.
