Montana Rail Link's Huntley junction lies on the former Northern Pacific Railway mainline,
which was completed between the Twin Cities and the west coast in 1883.
Montana Rail Link is now the operator of this line heading east and west.
A third line heads southeastward into Wyoming. It was a part of the
Chicago, Burlington and Quincy, and is now part of BNSF Railway.
