The first settlements - Truzhenik and Vozdvizhenka farms - appeared here in 1886 on the lands of landlord Yantsen, near the granite quarry, which belonged to him also.
In 1945, farms were united in the settlement, which became a modern name. In 1986 the settlement was awarded the status of urban-type settlement.
