The Light Waterfront

Malaysia / Pulau Pinang / Georgetown /

A waterfront city on a man-made artifical land reclamation.

The Light Waterfront designed as Penang's first integrated leisure, retail, entertainment and cultural destination within an upmarket and luxurious waterfront living enclave. The Light creates a totally new experience for Penang visitors and its residents.

On a site of 152 acres of land on Penang Island's eastern coastline, the bold vision of IJM Properties Sdn.Bhd., Malaysia's foremost developer and pioneer of many overseas projects, is fast becoming a reality.

The transformation of this excellent site into a global village, to be called The Light, has begun. This RM 6.5 billion project is under taken by Jelutong Development Sdn.Bhd., a subsidiary of IJM Properties Sdn. Bhd.

I wished to see one day the strait between Butterworth and Penang island reclaimed to become many artificial islands and many luxurious hotels, shopping places, marinas, villas is built on these islands. This kind of project together with other megaprojects in penang will make Penang trully a global city, just like Dubai.
