Formerly the spot of Wilshire Village apartments (which had been constructed in 1940 but demolished in 2009), the H-E-B Montrose Market (store #630, opened November 2011) is a more upscale H-E-B (not a Central Market, mind you) but has neat perks, like an area where you can buy certain drinks (notably craft beers) at the store and consume them at the outdoor patio. Other things to note that when it opened, a liquor license wasn't procured until over a month later (the whole beer/wine area was roped off), and that the trees in the parking lot are the originals from Wilshire Village (which saved the trees).
