Eagle Butte Mine surface coal mine, owned by Foundation Coal West, a Foundation Coal subsidiary, is situated in Wyoming's portion of the Powder River Basin. Coal from this mine is transported by BNSF Railway to customers throughout North America. During 2007, production from the Eagle Butte Mine amounted to 24,985,991 tons, the 9th highest among coal mines in the United States.
