London House Chicago was designed c. 1922 by Alfred S. Alschuler for the London Guarantee & Accident Company, an insurance firm that was then its principal occupant. In 2001, the building was acquired by Crain Communications and was then resold in 2013 to Oxford Capital Group to be reused as a hotel with a modernist 22 story all glass tower addition which was designed in 2016 by Goettsch Partners.
