The district of Auraiya lies in the southwestern portion of Uttar Pradesh 26° 21" and 27° 01" north latitude and 78° 45" and 79° 45" east longitude and forms a part of the Kanpur Division. It is bounded on the north by the districts of Kannauj, western border adjoins tehsil Bharthana of the Etawah district and the district of Gwalior. The eastern frontier marches with the district of Kanpur Dehat, and along the south lie Jalaun. The total area according to the statistics of 1991-92 is calculated to be 2054 square kilometer

  • I appreciate it. At the same i earnestly urge to rectify the facts and figures. Like : The high way was known as Mogul Road. It is renamed as AH 1 [previously it was NH 2]. The nearest airport is Kanpur [ official name is Chakeri ]. It is situated at 110 K Ms and NOT 180 K Ms. Western boarder of Auraiya does meet Bhartana Tehsil of district Etawah but no where of Gwalior, as stated above. So far as nearest Railway stations are concerned, Pukhrayan is nearer [ 40 K Ms] than Etawah. p.s. AH 1 is Asian Highway 1 and NH 2 is National Highway 2
