The house was built on crop land that had been terraced. The land was platted as a subdivision and the house was built by Gene McKinney in 1987. Large pecan trees, including many different native pecans grow here. The land slopes into Hudson Lake at about a 3% grade for several hundred feet into the lake. The largest tree, near the center of the property is called "the implement tree" and was originally three trees that have grown together. The 2006 ice storm severely damage the northern most tree of the three, grounding about half of it.

Dr. Larry J. Paden bought the property in 2005 and has his offices there.
