This interchange is a single directional ramp north of Emporia, Virginia. It allows northbound Interstate 95 to exit onto northbound U.S. Route 301. Originally, this was the northern end of the Emporia bypass, which was opened in 1959 as the first portion of Interstate highway to be built in Virginia. The portion of I-95 north of here opened in 1982 as the last portion of I-95 to be completed in Virginia. This interchange was partially closed at this time, and the opening of the Exit 13 interchange rendered this exit redundant. However, one ramp remains to this day.
