Emporia is currently considering a proposal from the U.S. Navy to allow E2C Hawkeye and C-2 Greyhound carrier aircraft from Norfolk to make touch-and-go landings at the airport.
Franklin already rejected a similar proposal, but Emporia has a longer runway and it is farther away from populated areas.
