This is a free-flowing system interchange between Interstate 95, Interstate 295, and U.S. Route 1, located located north of Richmond, Virginia. It is essentially two cloverleaf interchanges, with shared collector-distributor ramps along I-295. The eastern interchange has high speed directional flyovers between I-95 to the north and I-295 to the south. The reason for this is that interstate through traffic on I-95 is encouraged to use I-295 to bypass Richmond and it was originally planned that I-95 would follow this new alignment, which never happened. Due to this, both these flyovers have left entries and exits. These flyovers eliminate weaving on I-95 southbound, but there is still a relatively short weave between the loops on I-95 northbound.
