The historical background: In this house in 1826-1844 there lived the poet E.A.Baratynsky. E.A.Baratynsky (1800-1844) - the poet, has lived a considerable part of the life in Moscow. His Moscow impressions are reflected in his poems "Gypsy", "Ball" and other works.
Here Baratynsky lived from 1826 and until his death. Here he was visited by A.S. Pushkin, P. A. Vyazemsky, and D.V. Davidov.

In this house poet and playwright Aleksandr P. Sumarokov (1717-1777) resided during his childhood (till 1732).

During Soviet times in this house there was the workshop of the architect, I. V. Zholtovskov.
