Tverskoy Bulvar is the section of the Boulevard Ring from Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street to Tverskaya Street.

It was the first section of the boulevard constructed after the Bely Gorod Wall was removed. It was planted with trees in 1796 following the recommendation of the 1775 Moscow Planning Commission.

It was once a fashionable boulevard and a favorite place for high society to take a stroll among the lime trees. The homes along here were designed by some of Moscow's most famous late 18th century architects. Within a few years of being designed in 1796, however, French troops were camped here in tents, and the soldiers had cut down the trees for firewood.
