La Marina square (Málaga)

Spain / Malaga / Málaga / Plaza de la Marina
 square, parking

This square dates back to the beginning of the 19th century, when a part of the old Moorish walls surrounding the city were torn down.
The location for the Plaza de la Marina in Málaga, was designed to unite the intersection of the three main avenues of Malaga back in 1848, that was the Larios street, the Alameda Principal and Paseo del Parque. La Marina Square is one of the busiest spots in Málaga, and also one of the most beautiful, because the beauty of the square is added to the environment, which consists of a series of architecturally elegant buildings such as La Equitativa and the Diputación Provincial, the national government's offices in Málaga. There is a pretty fountain above the underground parking. It also has some palm trees and gardens boxes next to the huge pillars that limit access to the port area, that is another of the many elements that characterize this part of Malaga.
