Customs Palace (Palacio de la Aduana) (Málaga)

Spain / Malaga / Málaga / Plaza de la Aduana, 2
palace, place with historical importance, art museum / art gallery

Near the Alcazaba in the calle de Cervantes the neoclassical lines of the Aduana Palace can be seen. Built in 1788 it became the barracks for the French troops in 1810 and it was these who caused serious damage to the inside of the building. Later it became the tobacco factory and subsequently it housed state offices. In 1922 a fire completely destroyed the interior.
Currently, the building is restored and will house the Malaga Museum.
