The American Memorial Library (German: Amerika-Gedenkbibliothek) is one of the largest libraries in Berlin. It is a gift from the United States to Berlin after the blockade by the Soviet Union. The library was designed by American and German architects, including Fritz Bornemann and Willy Kreuer as a symbol of education and freedom. The library was opened in 1954. It is now part of the Central and Regional Library Berlin (ZLB).
