Avenue A South (Saskatoon)
Avenue A used to be the city's main north-south roadway until the majority of it was renamed Idylwyld Drive in the 1960s. These three blocks are all that retain the original name.
Rather than having names, streets west of downtown are "lettered" from A to Y. Briefly during 1922 the City discussed naming them ("A" might become "Ash", "B" - "Beech", etc) but nothing ever came of the idea. Curiously, there is no "Avenue Z".
