This was formerly Modern Springworks, a suspension shop founded in 1938 by Frank Kortje, who moved the business into this location in 1941. He died in 1974, at which time his sons took over the business and erected its iconic sign with clocks. The business closed in the 1990s.

For a time, it was the location of Think Outside Adventure Company, an outdoor outfitter business. The building was purchased in 2013 by Delores Wionzek and Neil Robinson, owners of the neighbouring business Garden Architecture. The sign was dismantled in November 2013.
