US Highway 82 / US Highway 277

US Highway 82 is an east-west route from New Mexico to Georgia. It begins just outside Alamogordo, NM at an intersection with US 54 and US 70. US 82 goes east into Texas passing through Lubbock and Wichita Falls. It continues through Texarkana, TX and southern Arkansas. It meanders through Mississippi and Alabama and into Georgia. In Brunswick, GA US 82 crosses Interstate 95 and is not signed any further; however, it officially ends where GA 520 splits from US 17/GA 25 on Jekyll Island.

US Highway 277 goes through only Texas and Oklahoma. It starts westward from US 83 in Carrizo Springs, TX. It travels through Eagle Pass and Del Rio before heading north. It crosses Interstate 10 at Sonora, then goes through downtown San Angelo. From San Angelo, US 277 continues north to Abilene where it carries traffic on the west side of the city. Wichita Falls, TX sees US 277 cosigned with I-44. In Oklahoma, US 277 meanders northeast to Newcastle (southwest of Oklahoma City) where it ends at I-44 exit 107.
