Hi Ellis, I was in Wavell Barracks in 1958/59. I did guard on Spandau Prison also on train guard, just got back from Berlin, tried to find Wavell Barracks but no luck, I think we must have gone to the wrong place, but there again everything has changed that much, if possible could you give me the correct address, then I can contact a pal of mine over there to get me some photo's. my email is ( smudge@mcb.net ) Many thanks Eric.

Final Solution of the Jewish Question
:
did it actually Solve the Jewish Question, or was it just a waste of time and life ?
Are Germans after that in a racially better situation, purer, etc. ?
Why is it that the world's most scientifically advanced people came to believe such a sperficial and useless doctrine as racial superiority ?
Is there any assurance that it will not happen again, not i Germany but in other countries ?
There must be many in Germany who continue to hold racist beliefs. What do they think about these questions ?

It is amazing to me that in this day and age of awareness and conscientious protection of our planet that Germany, of all places, is making a hard core action against people who are actually making a real change, not just rhetoric.
Germany, in the past, has been a leader in cleaning up, renewing and protecting the environment. I am shocked that Germany is scapegoating Paul Watson.
It can only be political motives and pressures that cause this outrageous action against Paul Watson.
I urge you to take the high road and make decisions according to the needs of our precious planet. No people are able to survive when the needs of the planet are neglected.

I was posted to Wavell Barracks with the Welsh Guards in June 1952, during that
time we did guard on Spandau Prison, among other duties. I have just returned from
a visit to Spandau (memory lane) and was saddened to see the barracks in such a state of disrepair, it is now unoccupied......H. Ellis. May 2012.

Me and my band toured for NAAFI in W Germany several times in the late 70s and early 80s and entertained at many Barracks.
I still have unopened the gift of a bottle of 1979 'Urtziger Schwartzlay Kabinett' white wine specially selected for the 2nd BN. Royal Anglian Regiment. I was sure they were situated at Spandau and having googled the Regiments name on the bottle it seems I was right.
Great experiences and always well looked after by the lads.
