Sadly, Gatow First School Berlin was demolished earlier this year (2017) to make way for private housing. The Officers' Mess has also been transformed - very tastefully - into private flats. Where the NAAFI once stood, there are now a series of homes, again, tastefully designed.

Watch the made for TV movie called "Conspiracy". I think it was made in 2001. It is an excellent and historically accurate portrayal of what was discussed here based on meeting notes taken by Martin Luther and later recovered by American troops.

The bunker was in 2 sections. Only the section personally used by Hitler (as opposed to the other top Reich officials) is shown. The other section is the same overall size, and is to the right of, and 3 metres more elevated than, the Hitler section.

My father was with 1 para and we were stationed there in the 70s, living on Contessaweg first, then moving to the quarters near camp. My father worked extra as a projectionist at camp and on Gatow as well as running the Cpl's mess. Loved living there.
