The 287,752 sq. ft., former Sanmina-Sci building was acquired by the City of Toronto in 2011 to house the Police Department's property and evidence facility after its facility in Etobicoke became inadequate for its needs.

Originally the site of publisher McGraw-Hill from 1965 to 1991 when it moved to Whitby. The present building was constructed in 2001 for high tech manufacturer Sanmina-Sci
