This is a hybrid two-level directional interchange between Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 301/Virginia Route 2 (Chamberlayne Road) north of Richmond, Virginia in the Chamberlayne area. Routes 301/2 and I-95 run parallel at this location. Southbound Route 301 crosses over Interstate 95 forming a modified basketweave interchange. The northern crossover is where I-95 crosses over Upham Brook.

I-95 north to 301/2 south movements are served in similar fashion to a directional Y. The northbound I-95 exit is a hook ramp ending at a signal on Route 301/2. All other movements in the interchange are free-flowing. Left turns at the acute angles require U-turns and there is a dedicated U-turn ramp in the northern part of the interchange. This exit was originally the northern terminus of the Richmond-Petersburg Turnpike.

  • The Northern end of the Richmond-Petersburg Turnpike began/ended here. Before 1992 motorists traveling farther south paid $1.50 total on the way to Petersburg.
