The "La Equitativa" is built in modern movement style, in the city center of Malaga, in the Plaza de la Marina at the intersection of Alameda Principal with Calle Larios, on the site formerly occupied by the Palace of the Larios family.
This building was built in 1956 by architects Manuel Cabanyes y Mata and Juan Jauregui Briales, and introduces in the city the model of American skyscrapers, but with indigenous elements in its decoration, such as the tower of Islamic inspiration that tops the building.
The position of the tower, facing Calle Larios, highlights the importance of this street and brings a unique element that encloses the urban space of the street.
People jokingly call it "Edificio de los tres huevos" (The Building with Three Eggs) because of the three ovoids on the roof.
