In Hants County, Fundy Gypsum Company operates quarries at Miller Creek and Wentworth, with annual production around 1.7 million tonnes. Their product is carried by rail to Hantsport and shipped to U. S. ports along the eastern seaboard. At most quarries throughout the province, gypsum is blasted, transported and crushed to pieces less than six inches in size at the quarry site before being transported elsewhere.
