Booker is a town in Lipscomb and Ochiltree Counties in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 1,516 at the 2010 census, making it the largest town in Lipscomb County.

The town was originally founded in 1909 seven miles northwest of its current location as La Kemp, Oklahoma. La Kemp was relocated to the south when the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway was extended to Spearman, Texas in 1919. The new location was platted by Thomas C. Spearman and named after B.F. Booker, a civil engineer with the railroad.

Oil exploration, agricultural improvments, and new farming techniques led to the economic growth of Booker in the 1940's and 1950's. The population reached it's highest level of around 1,500, where it remains today. The railway passing through town was decommissioned in 2007.
