Udayagiri is mandal headquarter (Mdl code-10 of PSR Nellore Dt, AP) for 17 villages. This has a Fort and a temple city.It is 96 km from Nellore city. The fort was built by Gajapatis and Vijayanagara kings in the 14th and 15th centuries. The army of Krishna Deva Raya attacked the fort. The fight lasted for 18 months and resulted in the end of Gajapatis rule from the Telugu region. It was later ruled by chieftains of the Nawabs of Golconda and Arcot.

  • I am Fr. Joseph Pidathala form Seeetharamapuram of Udaygiri Taluk. It is wonderful place for sight seeing and adventure. The fort is excellent and worth seeing. Today Udagiri is a fast growing town. soon it be made Municipality.
